Midnight, arriving at Frankfurt airport.
The taxi fare from here to Düsseldorf is 300 euros.
But it’s simply feels BAD as the taxi driver kept on pushing me.
And the price for renting a car is more attractive, let alone the experience of driving on the autobahn alone: priceless :P
I rent the cheapest car available; thanks to the dysfunctional door of the antique Volkswagen Golf, I got a free and HUGE upgrade to Mercedes Benz!!
I still underwent a few times of flameouts due to the manual clutch.
But guess what? That was not even an issue compared to the worst part!
Looking back, I believe I must have set it to demo/preview mode so the GPS was never showing my actual position while I still tried to follow it..........and I ended up entering the exiting ramp of highway.........I’m more than thankful that the upcoming bus didn’t bump into me and I was able to make a U turn without involving in any accident........T_T
Then I got on the ramp heading South...........luckily within an hour I noticed the sign indicating Munich, the direction where I was from.......again I have to feel appreciated that there happens to be a truck driver at the rest area that hasn’t slept yet and was willing to help me with the direction.............and yes I made another U turn on the ramp since I was afraid I won’t be able to find the way back onto the highway for the right direction North!
So now it’s already 2 a.m and I’m still about 300 kilometers away from Düsseldorf, where my flight to London will take off around 6.............
Apparently it’s time to take advantage of the Autobahn; and it also shows the difference between vehicle classes: I can feel the vehicle swinging a little bit around 160 km/hr while we wished the engine power could have been stronger even though it was already 220 km/hr last time when we rent the Audi A3 to Prague.........I couldn't even imagine what would the situation be like if I were driving the antique Volkswagen Golf.......lol
Then all of a sudden, a flash hit me from ahead!
What!? Wait.......isn’t there no speed limit on the autobahn!?
And shouldn’t the camera take picture from behind?
Anyways let me just go all the way to the airport first.......
I arrived at about five in the morning after driving for almost 4 hours.
After filling the tank up and returning the vehicle, I rushed to the counter for checking in: just in time!
Haven’t closed my eye for the whole night; I fell asleep immediately after taking off.
When I woke up, I’m in London already.
The airport metro is really nice and comfortable while the crowd in front of the tax return and departure counter is more than numerous.
I wonder how much the Chinese person in front of me had bought to get a full hand of cash as tax return......
The waiting time was actually shorter than I expected; I could have taken the second flight or flown from Stuttgart or Munich...........it’s called spoil the ship for a half pennyworth of tar......
Though the staff at the baggage check told me that my carry on luggage is overweight but I was still able to sneak in the cabinet with it :P
After finishing the last food I brought from Taiwan together with the sandwich I bought with the remaining British Pounds I had, now it’s time to get aboard and say goodbye to Europe.

I watched “kick ass” on the plane; not as good as I expected.
There was a kid crying but I was able to fall asleep with my earplug.
But the 13 hour flight from London to Hong Kong is still too long..........while I suffer from jet lag.
So I started trying to make up for the diaries I had left behind.
Also, I watched the second episode of “sex and the city” when enjoying the cup noodle.
I have to give credit to Australia airline for their delicious food and pleasant service!

半夜抵達法蘭克福，
這裡的計程車費變成300歐，不過被押著打電話感覺太差，乾脆來租車吧!!
莫名打不開門的Golf讓我瞬間升級稱為賓士車主! 但是跳tone的Garmin導航讓我差點出師未捷身先死，
好險路邊有很晚睡、雖然不懂英文但好心的卡車司機+交流道上的無敵大迴轉，
狂飆280公里，今晚的我沒有極限但是好像被照相了....? 說好的autobahn呢.....?
只能希望那是我的錯覺or罰單不要太貴....然後好不容易上手了也要還車了，
不過看來以後開車玩德國也是可以考慮的事情
吃完最後的肉鬆就登機嚕~.....終於坐到Heathrow express，
最好的果然是第五航廈，退稅櫃台&出境管理的排隊人潮讓人有舉國逃難的感覺，大陸人到底是買了多少會退到滿手白花花的鈔票阿....
排隊花的時間比想像中短，早知道坐第二班飛機就好了...(或者是從慕尼黑or斯圖加飛....唉都是事後諸葛了)，
背包+登機箱順利闖關成功!!
kick ass 沒有想像中好看，附近似乎有小孩哭鬧，好險我有帶耳塞；
澳航一點都不澳，東西好吃服務也不差；
時差有點難調，那就來補日記吧!
