7/16:

Took a shower after waking up. The breakfast provided by the hostel is truly nice; I should have bring some plastic bags for carry out :P

The crowded streets last night are still sleeping in the morning.

The first stop today is Alkmaar, where the famous cheese market is located.

Following the map from the train station staff, the cheese market is interesting, just like the street artists here.

And the best thing for me is that I found a discounted Rimowa suitcase for myself:

It’s from last season so I was able to get my favorite color with a fantastic price!

Then I went to Zaans Shans, also famous for the windmills but much easier to reach by train, which might be the reason why here seems much more popular for Asian tourists.......and I saw the lifting of bridge which I missed in London.

Then I took the train to Belquim.

The announcement on train was “beware of the pickpockets............”

I was definitely lucky to still have all my belongings with me since I fell asleep again on the train. :P

There seems to be something “special” too at the Brussels north station........while the modern skyscrapers at one side of south station made great contrast to the old houses at the other side.

Then the train passes by Ghent, where the hot ballons on the sky looks truly good.

But it’s really a little bit to far from big cities...........now I feel better that I didn’t apply for exchange to Ghent.

Finally after several hours of train ride, I arrived at Bruges in the evening.

I couldn't find a map since the tourist center was already closed so I spent two euros to take a bus.

The hostel tonight is again the upper stairs of a bar and the owner is also hospitable.

But this time I couldn't resist the smell of food so I went downstairs and ordered Musselen, the famous seafood dish here.

So the plate that cost more than the room tonight on the table was..............vegetable with oysters, which was truly salty.

I can tell it's not a bad deal considering the number of oysters in the plate.

But paying 20 euros for this...................I miss food in Taiwan!!

Musselen,
