01/05:
I’m thinking about taking back my compliments toward the greyhound service after transferring onto the second bus, heading from New york to Philadelphia, which is much older, less comfortable, and probably more importantly: without free wifi!
What’s worse, my sun glasses was stolen when I realized leaving it unattained on a nearby desk for only less than five minutes.
Come what may, the trip still has to go on; that’s the spirit of backpackers!
Thanks for Paul, who I acquainted at the last day of 2010 by joining the Taiwanese count down party and happens to be the leader of TSA Philadelphia, we have a local guide!
So after leaving our luggage at the hostel, we first went visit the well-known treasure: liberty bell and independence hall, where a copy of United States Declaration of Independence is placed; these two materials both recorded the trail of the rise of America.
Later we walked to the famous cheese steak restaurant for lunch; wait.........steak....? that’s not an attracting vocabulary for people who don’t eat beef :S
Luckily I still found chicken as a substitute. :)
In the afternoon we further explored the city: the city hall and museums are all beautiful and historical architectures.
Being one of the oldest city in the States, Phili has more than just cultural heritage: it also has convenient public transportation and is the hometown Rocky, a classic American dream example.
Last but not least tonight, we went to a famous burger store (that’s probably the only problem traveling with beef-lovers) near the campus of University of Pennsylvania.
Just a reminder, there are safety issues around this district so it’s probably not such a good idea to hang around at night!
