10 A.M on the first day of spring break, after waking up in Danny’s living room, somewhat recovering from the fatigue of driving more than ten hours, all the way from Columbia to New Orleans last night, we headed to French quarter, one of the most notorious place across the country for alcohol while it’s also where the Mardi Gra parades ends.

Anita, who went to the same senior high school with me in the same time while we didn’t know each other through until he Internet the high school basketball finals last week, will not only for the first time meet me in person but also kindly be our guide today!

So the main activity of Mardi Gras, one of the best-known carnival across the country and meanwhile the main reason we drove all the way to New Orleans, is the non-stop parades.

It’s simply hard to describe the parade by words that I shall give all the credits to modern technology:

The above scenario can only be seen during Mardi Gras season but French quarter is always the first place to visit in New Orleans:

The goods in French market didn't really interested me but the famous donut and coffee next door are definitely the best friends in a rainy chilly afternoon.

In addition to the exotic architectures and atmosphere in this district, French quarter is also where American Jazz culture was given birth and further fertilized.

Of course New Orleans is also famous for fried chicken, but when speaking of Bourbon street, people think of it as one of the most notorious destinations for alcohol, bars and sex for a reason.

That is undoubtedly true: people do get crazy under this circumstances, leaving their rationality behind, chasing what’s only valuable here.

French quarter, definitely the dream paradise for party people!
